Tatyana Silva and her husband, Riccardo.

Meet Tatyana Silva, a friend and supporter of Bakehouse Art Complex. Tatyana is a passionate collector with a focus on Radical Italian Design and Arte Povera.

Tatyana’s longstanding  interest in and support of arts brought her to Bakehouse in 2018, where over 100+ Miami-based artists work. We caught up with Tatyana to discuss her “eye-opening” introduction to our artist community,

Why is it important to support artists and the organizations that serve them?

As a classically trained musician from a very young age, art has always been a part of my life. Art is the materialization of the ideal of beauty and represents the best of us. Artists, especially at a young stage in their development, must  be supported.

What inspires you about Bakehouse?

Bakehouse has it all: painters, poets, performers, designers, and more! It exudes character. The energy of a young art community is a great addition to the new Miami. Creativity fosters exchange and new ideas in our city. A community of artists inspires each other and in turn the community at large.

Why should someone donate to Bakehouse?

Bakehouse has values and an important agenda. Supporting its community of artists strengthens the intellectual and creative development of our city and elevates our image.

What is your wish for Bakehouse as it embarks on its next generation for 21st century artmaking?

My wish is that  Bakehouse becomes a global destination for art and art audiences of all ages. I can’t wait to see the new campus equipped with the best tools for artists, go to more events, and see more opportunities to develop and educate the next generation.

Where would you like to see Bakehouse in three years?

The possibilities are endless, but I really hope to see Bakehouse internationally recognized as a model program where artists and community come together.
