Why is it important to support artists and the organizations that serve them?

Artists are typically creative experts, not necessarily marketing, business, or social media experts. Thus, they need to be surrounded by those who can share their expertise in these areas, in order to reach their full potential. When surrounded by brilliance, we all go further and our potential for success is increased geometrically. Organizations such as Bakehouse build community for up-and-coming artists.

What inspires you about Bakehouse?

It is an organization surrounded with visionaries who love, respect, and have deep passions for the arts. Bakehouse has political influence, educational influence, marketing influence, and business influence, along with support from very sophisticated art enthusiasts who understand the complexities of the art world and those who have grown into leaders in this sector.

Why should someone donate to Bakehouse?

If you love artists and are passionate about building the arts community in Miami, you should donate to Bakehouse.

What is your wish for Bakehouse as it embarks on its next generation for 21st-century art making?

I hope Bakehouse remains focused on supporting the brightest and best artists coming from our community, surrounds them with brilliant peers from all fields and disciplines, and continues to work towards creating an affordable live, work, and play environment. I know it’s a marathon, but they cannot give up. We all need to understand that artists create culture, tourism, wealth and passion... Look at Paris, Barcelona and now up-and-coming Miami as a compass.

Where would you like to see Bakehouse in three years?

I hope Bakehouse remains on a constant and upwards course of growth on all fronts. I hope they recognize the need to generate statistical data on the impact the organization is having on the artists they are supporting.
