Family Day at The Underline

Join Bakehouse artists at The Underline every third Saturday of the month for a day of exploration and learning. This month, celebrate the fall season with hands-on, art-making activities about dreams, mysticism, and Indigenous People's Day, all designed by our artists!

This event is free to the public, but RSVP is encouraged.

Participating artists

Join artist Alyssa Andrews (Website) in creating your very own dream journal! With Alyssa, participants will make magical accordion books, fit to house their many magical dreams.

Using old magazines, buttons, and paint, artist Maria Theresa Barbist (Website) will guide participants in the creation of a collage that reflects the wonders and curiosities of their dreams.

Celebrate Indigenous People's Day with artist Amalia Caputo (Website), as participants work through a drawing activity based on the traditional folk stories of Indigenous peoples from Amalia’s home country of Venezuela.

Explore the art of book-making with artist Jose Luis Garcia (Website) leads a workshop in creating handmade pocketbooks, handy for remembering adventures you’ll have during our Family Day!

Enter the fantastical world of your own imagination by bringing characters to life with artist Avi Young (Website). With Avi’s help, participants will make character masks using everyday materials like paper, pipe cleaners, and markers.
