In Conversation: Constructing Work in Collaboration
In June 2019, artists Toña Vegas and Gabriela Gamboa embarked on an [OPEN] Spaces project that resulted in an immersive, site-specific installation in the Bakehouse’s Swenson Gallery. Beyond the tangible work that they created, the possibility for exchange and dialogue became an essential part of their collaboration.
Moderated by Bakehouse Curatorial + Public Programs Associate, Laura Novoa, Toña and Gabriela discuss how working together has influenced their individual practice and how the process of collaboration itself can help artists discover new aspects of their work.
