Meet New Bakehouse Board Member Zach Hyman…
Born and raised in Chicago, Zach Hyman is a digital program manager and creative strategist who spent his career focusing on the intersection of design and data. He is currently DTC Product Insights & Operations Manager at Levi Strauss & Co., working to scale the research and insights backbone behind the brand's global ecommerce platforms. Zach recently finished his MBA at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business under the school's Distinguished Fellowship Program, where he co-led the Innovation and Design Club and ran the fashion-tech app Zelia, which was a finalist in the Strategy for Booth New Venture Challenge.
His previous roles include producing global interactive campaigns for Apple's Marcom Studio in Sunnyvale, CA, and creating social content for the food and wellness-focused marketing agency SRW as one of their initial hires.
Zach was introduced to Bakehouse in early 2023 as part of the Fellowship program. “I went back to school to dive more fully into how design, technology, and social impact interact in a business environment,” commented Hyman, “and when I visited the Bakehouse, those themes came to light immediately. I believe wholeheartedly in its mission of marrying creative incubation with affordable housing, and I'm excited by the vision of elevating interactive art and programming in the future. I hope to contribute all that I can and learn along the way from fellow board members, the leadership team, and the artists which make Bakehouse so special.”
In view of our recent $1M Knight Foundation grant, we are excited that Zach is lending his talent and expertise to our Board, especially as we embark on understanding more deeply how interactive art and technology will shape the future Bakehouse’s renovation and programming.
Outside of work, Zach loves music (both attending shows and DJing), art history, collecting retro video games, and hiking mountains across the world. He lives with his girlfriend in Chicago's West Loop.
