Donor Highlight: LnS Gallery
Founded in 2017, LnS GALLERY is a progressive arts space committed to presenting and promoting the international reach and impact of contemporary art. The gallery seeks to create a platform that champions the multiculturalism and plurality of Miami-based artists
As part of its commitment to local artistic production, it generously sponsors the studio space of Bakehouse artist William Osorio, who has been participating in the Studio Residency program since 2020.
We spoke with LnS GALLERY director Sergio Cernuda about why the gallery supports Bakehouse Art Complex.
Why is it important to support artists and the organizations that serve them?
Arts and literature is one of the fundamental pillars of societal structure that help establish culture. Without artists helping document our time, the human race would find itself challenged to establish dialogue and reflect on history. Spaces such as the Bakehouse Art Complex nurture and allow for these ideas to grow.
What inspires you about Bakehouse?
For Miami, specifically, the activities and artistic movement surrounding Bakehouse is a win. Artists need affordable studio space, and in the future, living, to be able to establish their careers and assist their cities to be globally recognized.
Why should someone donate to Bakehouse?
It's important to support non-profit institutions that amplify arts and literature. The Bakehouse has had a rich history of being an integral part of Miami's cultural landscape.
Bakehouse turns 35 this year. What is your birthday wish for Bakehouse as it celebrates this pivotal anniversary?
Hopefully it is able to raise more money than ever and continue to expand its real estate to create more affordable housing for artists.
Where would you like to see Bakehouse in three years?
In three years, I would like to see the Bakehouse take strides towards national recognition as one of the leading non-profit art studio programs in the United States. In my opinion, it is on the right track.
