Artist Highlight: Patricia Monclús
Meet Patricia Moclus, a visual artist and educator whose work is deeply influenced by exploring symbols and their meanings in constructing images. Patricia draws on her rich cultural heritage— having been born in Los Angeles, raised in Spain and Colombia, and residing in Miami since 2015— and the collective imagination to create art that resonates on multiple levels. Inspired by memories and keepsakes, Patricia's work displays a subliminal idiosyncrasy that speaks of her multicultural background.

Artist Highlight: Cici McMonigle
Meet Cici McMonigle, a mixed media artist whose work showcases an array of creatures and characters drawn from fables and stories, each infused with a distinctive and exaggerated blend of cultural symbolisms. Cici’s paintings not only celebrate the coexistence of her diverse cultural backgrounds but, at the same time, invites viewers to embark on a journey of subconscious exploration and storytelling.
Bakehouse’s Study Trip to France
Last month, Bakehouse’s Cathy Leff and Krys Ortega, accompanied by artists Monica Lopez De Victoria, Woosler Delisfort,and Cornellus Tulloch participated in a study trip to Paris and Marseille, funded in part through generous donations from members of our Bakehouse Board of Directors.

Artist Highlight: Moira Holohan
Meet Moira Holohan, multi-disciplinary artist whose practice seeks to evoke poetic tensions around history, contemporary culture, and her personal experiences. Moira’s work spans textile, video, painting, and printmaking, often blending figuration, abstraction, and hints of absurd humor in a subtle nod to the New York avant-garde scene of the 40s and 50s. In balancing intuitive and systematic processes of making, she creates multi-layered conversations within the artwork.
